Chicken Shirl
Hi there, I just got around to looking at your lovely cockerels. They are beautiful. Sorry I haven't looked before but it went right out of my head. How strange that they are still not crowing. maybe they have not established who is the more dominant one yet. Do they stand off against each other?..... Please forgive me for not looking at them sooner.
abwsco
Shirl, there's no need to apologise for not looking at them sooner They had the odd fleeting moment of squaring up last week but apart from that there's been nothing. It's our first experience with cockerels but I would have thought there would have been something by now. Long may they continue to be soft and soppy

It's our first experience with cockerels but I would have thought there would have been something by now. Long may they continue to be soft and soppy I agree. It is nerve racking. Sir Minky and his son Ginger are doing fine at the moment. Minky is ruling the roost, but who knows what a few weeks down the line will bring. I was talking to my darling sister this morning and she once had two cockerels that she seperated from the rest and gave them one hen to share and they were great she say's. They had the odd little tussle but apart from that they were fine. I should think they will always be soppy, everyone we have had dealings with has been. It's why I love them so much. The great thing about them is that you can always pick them up and put them somewhere else if you want to do something with one of their hens. They do get a bit upset then. Keep on cuddling them.
