Casino Royale

I don't like this film, too violent, for the sake of it. I let my children watch it when it came out on DVD most Bonds being basically ok apart from a bit of saucy stuff, but it was awful especially the scene with the chair  The only film I have wished that I had watched first.

Sorry to change the tone of the thread.

It's Ok ChickenCam. I think it was issued as a PG-13.

It's difficult to monitor everything your children are exposed to.

My 15 year old niece is a voracious reader, whilst on holiday recently she raided the "library" of books left by other holiday makers. My OH mentioned to me that the subject matter of one of the books she had read was very racy. Too late. She had read it then.

It's not the most entertaining of Bond films, it doesn't have the dry humour of past films.

Not particularly family entertainment, but I loved some of the scenery. Venice for example.

Tricia, I lived in Trinidad. OMG, it was the best thing I have ever done.

I loved the food, the people, the carnival build up and celebrations, sailing, the latino influences, I learnt to salsa, merengue and cha cha, and I was out dancing all the time! Trinidad is not a very touristy island. Tobago is and the flights were really cheap! I went for many short breaks, horse riding, catamaran sailing, hot tubs under banyan trees. Aaaah.....

There was a trade off though! My pay wasn't great and my (quite large) family was far away.

It has made me really appreciate the UK. The temperate climate. The relative safety in which we live.

I really love this film & I adore Daniel Craig as a more brutal, thuggish Bond 8)

I liked him falling in love with Vesper too, & some of the scenery is amazing.

Especially love the final set piece with the big beautiful mansion on the peninsula....stunning!

Easily one of my most favourite Bond movies, & probably in my all time top ten flims ever :D

Lovely surprise to find it on last night - I stayed up & watched it all, even with the stupid news break in the middle

We watched it on dvd recently and Jake(9) kept asking if he could watch it. I checked with my daughter and we decided that most of his friends ahd already seen it and he would be OK.

We watched it together and he was fine - and he was laughing with glee at the 'chair scene':roll: Typical.

I enjoyed it and I'm not a Bond fan - I like the newer ones better than the older ones - Pierce Brosnan onwards.
