Chucky Mama
SOrry if this has been asked 100 times but before I trawl the internet does anyone have a good place where they get their jars including Kilners?
Space Chick
I have taken to buying cheap value jars from supermarkets for about 15p, emptying the contents, washing and sterilising and then using. Its a waste I admit, but saves me 35p a go, as its a struggle to find new jars for under 50p. Can't help with the Kilner jars

redhotchick
The cheapest foods in jars tend to be Sweet Pickle, Value Beetroot, mint sauce and Jam. Home Bargain do some cheap stir in sauces (19p and 29p). You could use these quite quickly. Even if it meant freezing the contents in plastic pots for a bit. I can't bear the thought of throwing the food away. I looked at the weekend but wouldn't buy any. If you use pasta sauce or nacho dips, these come in jars sometimes and are another thing that can be used up quickly.
Lesley
cheapest kilner jars we found were ikea's. Somebody on here (Poet?) had a problem with these I think. I use http://www.jamjarshop.co.uk or http://www.ascott.biz
Ygerna
I've used Jam Jar Shop and Ascotts but, whilst back home in Somerset at the weekend I found that the shop in my old home town has LOTS of home produce periphials, jars, lids, themometers, demi-johns, you name it, it had it. So, if anyone is near Somerton, take a peep into 'Overt Locke' its a veritable aladins cave
Guest
DON'T use the Ikea Kilner jars. Leaky isn't the word for it! I even bought new seals (elsewhere) and still they leaked. I ended up buying my Kilner jars from Lakeland.

Chucky Mama
I have done a mixture of things. Tescos had some decent sized kilner type jars for £1 each so got some of those for pickles that I am giving away and expect people who don't know any better may throw away. I have bought a few and have gone round the supermarket finding bargain super cheap food in jars that the labels will come off easily (get some funny looks when trying to see how easily labels come off), got some nice sized jars containing peas and carrots which I fed to the chickens and cost only 40p. I know that they will throw them away I have bought decent ones for me.

Got mine from jamjarshop.com and some spare seals to improve on the ikea ones but then the clips bent!
