Mel (& Paul)
There I was, all smug because Paul is such a wizz at diy and (he thinks) I am such a dunce . He's putting up trellis railings round our raised patios so that we can have a chicken poop zone and he had the day off today to finish it before some friends come for the weekend. I got back from work to find him with his right wrist bandaged - a nasty accident with a hand saw resulting in 5 stiches - ouch!! I feel a spell as a nurse coming on - shame there arent any grapes around the chooks have had them all Lots of sympathy for my pour wounded soldier (blast it also means I have to do the cleaning this weekend too

Mel (& Paul)
Bit extreme to get out of doing a job That's what I told him! Have told him that I am going to stick him on an iceburg for the polar bears to eat along with my dad (who broke his ribs last week) and my mum who broke her foot on Tuesday

Mel (& Paul)
Ahh its all coming out now - he's just wandered in and read these thread and said "actually, I did it so I could watch the test match in peace and quiet!!"
Cate in NZ
Ah-ha, canny, ulterior motive . lots of sympathy & the test match in peace. It still sounds a wee bit drastic to me . Hope Paul's feeling a bit better this morning.
Nicola H
Hope Paul is feeling better today Mel I am sure a bit of cricket therapy will cure him especially with a beer in his good hand.........
Mel (& Paul)
He's still suffering - having to use his right hand for cutting up food (he just when I suggested cutting his food up for him. ) He is regularly watching cricket and drinking beer (purely medicinal of course ) I managed to slice a big chunk out of one of my fingers this mornign whilst chopping onions and nattering to a friend - nothing like his but I do have a big plaster on my finger (not that it stops me surfing the forum
AnnieP
Poor you both...no doubt he would say you did your injury on purpose to gain the limelight? Its strange how when OH injures himself its due to him having an unfortunate "accident" but if I ever get hurt, its because I'm "careless or clumsy"!! Will your injury prevent you from cooking tonight?

Will your injury prevent you from cooking tonight? more than likely. I can just manage to get the gin and tonic open, but would be wary about any cooking, might be just a bit to hard for me...........

motherhen
Surfing is good exercise for cut fingers Especially those that are even more healed than you want people to know
Mel (& Paul)
Surfing is good exercise for cut fingers Especially those that are even more healed than you want people to know I presume you mean the website type of surfing rather than the getting wet and try and stand on top of a plank of wood in the waves type?!?!?! motherhen
Don't think hens like salt water But buried in the photoalbum on the take your hen to work day is a lovely photo of hens and computers. Also one of the newsletter front pages was a computer literate hen.

motherhen
I'm quite sure Kim and Aggie would have some magic remedy to de-poo a keyboard Although, intelligent computer literate hens are probably toilet trained
