I do love some of the weird place names.

 

When I lived in Newmarket, there was a place nearby called "Six Mile Bottom".

 

DD and I also love a place near Lincoln called "Spital-in-the-Street". I wonder what goes on there?

 

I also think " Frisby-on-the-Wreake" near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire sounds lovely.

On the pronunciation front, a place near my Mum's is spelt "Aslackby" but pronounce "Ayzalbee".
