How much do your chickens eat?

Now I know we've got a few - although a lot less than some who I won't mention  but I started worming them on Friday and so far I have mixed up 3kg on Thursday night, 3 kg on Friday night and another 3 kg tonight  and I'm not even feeding the starling population this time as they seem to have gone.

You could be on the money with the cheaper food - cheaper food equals less good stuff and more filler. This means they have to eat more to get the same benefits. Also, more filler equals more 'output'... at least, I assume this applies to chickens, it certainly does with ferrets!

I'm mixing up my own feed for them using good quality ingredients so I know it's not that. I think they must have just been hungry as they've not eaten it all yet today.

To be honest I'm finding the mixing up of feed a real pain in the butt and might see if I can find layers with it already in for next time.

I was trying to source Marriages layers pellets with Flubevnet already in it but everyone I called thought I was making it up. SPR sell it down south but the delivery was a lot (but Wild Mum did kindly offer to get me a bag  ) and Marriages never got back to me.

I am going to try Garvo feed on my next feed shop as Stan and Petula look AMAZING! :D

I got some of the Garvo mash and treat on Saturday after seeing Stan and Petula and Tasha letting me have a sniff of the feed  So far so good :D The girls love the mash and i didn't think it was possible for them to love something more than mealworms, but they went bonkers when i gave them a bit of treat earlier!

Will remember that it's Marraiges who make it although I've never seen that brand sold round here anyway :? I'm happy continuing with my wheat, barley and maize mix so won't be swapping but for worming time it would be easier.

Just checked their website and there's no stockists around here.
