Griffin
I think I know. Throughout the books he's always referred to Eric as 'the vampire' and I think somewhere he's referred to Bill as either Bill or Mr Compton. Eric has always always been 'the vampire'. Plus he barely knows Bill yet he's known Eric a while.

Cinnamon
Just started book 4 - looks like another good one One thing I have really not liked about the books is the whole Bubba thing Just think its one step too far & I am glad it hasn't been in the TV show (yet!) I am suprised that Tara is such a background character too, as she is so big in the TV series,& I really like her character I thought the whole thing with her mother was so well done & so well acted that I was looking forward to reading it too
Helly Welly
I really like Bubba, it's a nice funny interlude and he does come to the rescue quite a lot. I was surprised about Tara too, she's a great character in the tv series. I suppose it's like Harry Potter, you have to treat the books and the films/tv programmes separately. I'm halfway through book 8 now, what'll i do without them
The Dogmother
I am told that the actress who played Tara in the first episode is different from the one in subsequent episodes. Did you find that?
BarbaraJ
I think theres way too much Tara in the series but much more Sookie in the books I too like Bubba

Griffin
I am told that the actress who played Tara in the first episode is different from the one in subsequent episodes. Did you find that? A different actor filmed the part of Tara for the pilot episode but then a new one was brought in and Taras scenes were all re-shot. The pilot original Tara appeared in wasn't aired but I did leave a link to it somewhere in this thread. I prefer the new & improved Tara, she had more attitude
Snowy
I found it quite confusing to read the books at the same time as the series as the books are from Sookies point of view only. When you think that each book comprises a whole TV series, they've had a lot of padding out to do! I was also surprised at the lack of Tara, although she does come into it more in later books (definitely prefer screen Tara - that girl's got gumption! ) I was also very very surprised to read about Lafayette in book 2, especially considering he is such a prominent character It will be interesting to see how the TV series manages to stay true to the books, considering all the padding. I just hope they don't mess too much with Mr Northman's scenes!

Griffin
Yikes! Yahoo! Yum! Look what I just read on one of the TB fan sites!!! Not only is True Blood fave, Alexander Skarsgard, talking about Eric getting naked more in season three, but the other cast members are confirming it. Carrie Preston says, “Alex is not shy about getting naked at all!” said Preston, who plays Arlene Fowler. “And there will be lots of those kinds of scenes with Alex this season.” Todd Lowe says that there have already been a couple of scenes shot with a naked Eric.
