Ygerna
Although winter can be gloomy, I do enjoy pulling the curtains, and snuggling down to watch TV with hubby during the long evenings. The girls took themselves to bed at about 6.30 this evening and as soon as the children are scrubbed and into bed I am going to make a mug of hot chocolate and follow their exampe and snuggle up. Wish we had a log burner...
chelsea
Me too.... I've been in my pyjamas since about 4pm, I love the dark nights - light the candles and turn all the lights out, snuggle up.
abwsco
I've promised to run DH to his weekly snooker night so can't settle down until later. Sunday night is my night for watching and doing what I want
Space Chick
I love settling down in front of the telly on the dark nights, we don't put the lights on, just have the light from the TV and the heat and light from the coal fire

Redwing
I cleaned the sheep and chickens out at the field late this afternoon, its nice laying all the fresh Aubiose, shavings and straw and leaving them all snug for the night I came away as it was getting dark and leant on the gate watching everything for a bit then me and the dog strolled home and I lit the fire The dog is fast asleep on the rug and the cats are in the dogs bed Hubby and I have both have big glasses of milk and some biscuits Not sure if it gets any better than this On the other hand I hate it in the week when I have to rush home and whizz round the sheep and chickens to beat the darkness

majorbloodnock
I agree that there's something really hedonistic about being inside and cosy when it's cold, wet and dark outside. We don't have a television in front of which to curl up, but we do have lots of good books - a better alternative, in my opinion. We do also have a fire going in our wood stove in the front room, although that has little to do with the weather. We're currently without gas, and the stove is an excellent alternative for heating water for the bath. Not sure how much longer it'll be off, but I'm sure it's longer than we'd be prepared to remain unwashed.
