Holding feet up

Recommended Posts

Firemen spend most of their time with both feet up - I should know I'm married to one.

Not completely convinced about the scaley mites, but treating them anyway to be on the safe side. Would scaley mite casue their legs to be so sore they would hold them up?

Perhaps OH has got scaley mite in both legs too!

It can cause the legs to be sore, and if left untreated, will eventually make them lame.

Having said that, most of mine do the one leg thing from time to time, especially when it's cold and they draw one leg up under their feathers to warm it up.

Inspect their legs and spray if you're at all unsure. Check the palms of their feet and toes too.

Well I spent some time looking at all 3 of the girls tonight, and as a beginner at all of this, I am really not sure whether it is Scaly Mite or not. When I first got them at 12 weeks, their legs were smooth, yellow and lovely. I am now comparing them with that. I cant see any scales that look like they have been lifted, but they look a bit crusty, and 2 of them had crusty lumps between their toes, which when I rubbed in Johnson's scaly treatment, which is oily, has sort of rubbed off. But 2 of them do look slightly 'thickened' and crusty around the ankle area.

I think I am going to have to work out how to upload photos so I can let you Omleteers have a proper look. I am such a technophobe.

I am an ex-Nurse and I can confirm Nurses do stand on one leg from time to time. I gave up nursing over 20yrs ago but still do it if my legs are tired :D

Me too. :shh: And imagine the amount of one legged poses I have been doing these past few days after 'doing' Venice in 90 mins in boots on Thursday - my poor feet still hurt. :boohoo:

Two of my girls stand on one leg from time to time - usually when they are all on their marks to be first out the door if they think they are going to be FR.
