The Dogmother
I'll have them Claire - I just slung some out because I waited too long before using them
Linda
I think there is, but I just half filled a big jar with raspberries, put in 4 oz of sugar, filled up with a bottle of cheap voddy. Shook it every day until all the colour had leached out of the berries - strained it and filtered through a coffee filter paper. BTW I used the raspberries to make a boozy raspberry pavlova I certainly like the sound of this!
Cinnamon
Oh yum! Thanks for that - I will wait until raspberry season & make some

The Dogmother
That's the sort of logic Annie and I get from our men when they turn down food because they're 'not hungry' BTW Old fashioned stopper bottles are cheap as chips in IKEA. The Dogmother
They are great, I can't remember how much, but they have the plastic stoppers with metal flip things. They also do really cheap kilner jars.

Charlottechicken
Ooh Laura, I did mine yesterday too! How long are you leaving your zest in for? I was going to leave it for forty days, but the way the colour is coming out, I will have itchy feet to finish off in a couple of weeks! I just need to get the juice out of the lemons now. Can you freeze lemon juice, or does it not go off too quickly? Does anyone know if I can put the lemon 'skins' on the compost heap?
The Dogmother
Sorry Claire, no citrus of any sort on a compost, it's just too acidic.
Charlottechicken
Thanks Clare, I thought the answer may be no, but had to ask just to be sure, better safe than sorry! Now, anyone got any ideas for lemon skins!!!
