Toots
I let my girls out of bed this morning as usual. All 4 running out just incase i try to stroke them as they come out the door. instead of gathering around me while i fill up the grub there were 4 chicken at the back of the run making quite a fuss. It seemeed that there was an extra bird in the run, a robin! I still have no idea how it got in there as it was dark when I shut the girls up and there was no robin in there when I put them away after their free ranging! once given the open door the robin decided that 4 angry chooks were not the best housing partners and she flew off. do chickens not like other birds in general or did they get anoyed with one in their run? jomeena
Must have gave them quite a turn, cheeky bird. We have a robin who trys to nick the girls treats and they are not impressed at all, Flo the head chick has been known to honk very loudly and give chase. Wonder how it managed to get in, i know theyre small but not that small.
Luvachicken
I've had a blue-tit, a robin and a dunnock exploring my girls run and they always find a way out through the rungs / wire even though it was a bit of a squeeze. The best bird was a wood pigeon ( flying pig) that had walked all the way to end of the run, thinking no one was looking pecking at this and that, when suddenly the girls spotted him and surrounded him. He couldn't get out quick enough and flew right out of the garden, he never came back
