Old Speckled Hen
I watched it and thought... 'why?' The answer to that you know. Why not? Because they can? I think it's wonderful there are idiots like this out there but I'm oh so grateful they are not somebody I love dearly. It reminds me of when my daughter took her first solo flight in a small plane. Two guys talking to her in the control room dropped their headphones and you could hear woooooooooooooohoooooooo through them ten feet away Still brings a tear to my eye. The Dogmother
So was I the first time I did it - a pathological fear of being trapped underneath. the ex was a rafting instructor and promised that I'd be safe. I loved it so much that they had to find another shuttle bunny to drive them back up the mountain to the start
chickencam
Very and very stupid, it must have been a great thrill, but who would have had to pick up the pieces had it all gone wrong???
Paddy
I windsurfed for ten years and miss it terribly now I have children. I know its dangerous but ........ absolutely amazing! However ...... if my children want a motorbike or do silly things like that - catagorically NO!

Ziggy
Nice to see the wind was helpful to someone... usually it only brings damages... I don't know if it's related, but all I've heard in the last two days were constant sirens going around, police and ambulance... DD1 was joking this morning, that we should leave the car home and go on the schoolrun with a skateboard and a kite ... I also always wonder 'why' when I see people do things like that... and wondering if it's brave, foolish or both... but then I'm an absolute coward (I feel right at home keeping chickens, I'm one of them), and have always been so... if those guys were brave and foolish, I hope I can be known as cowardly and wise
freddie
Windsurfing is Great!! DS is in National squad! It's never too late, and you're never too old! Pm me, and I'LL GET REALLY BORING ABOUT IT!! sorry about the caps, mistake! there is a not for profit club who sail all winter, and summer; and trip all over the place, run By several lunatics, (the eldest is 72!)and we have fun, and lots of it! Seagazer
Well my first words were wow when I watched that. Slightly jealous as well but there is no way I would do it. Too much of a coward but as others have said, if it went wrong then all sorts of people have to get involved. But really, WOW
Valkyrie
As a person who has given up trying to do balancing type activities, I am quite in awe of someone who can - although the pier could have been bad had the wind dropped suddenly. Went white water rafting in Canada - once before the children came along and we did the scary one - absolutely brilliant (and I looked good in my wet suit), and another with the children and a bit more tame (and I looked awful in my wet suit). Went to Florida and took a couple of canoes out on the water - DS was sulking so didn't come with us, I shared with DD while OH had a canoe to himself. Big mistake - he can't manage a rowing boat let alone a canoe, but the wind caught him and he just about managed to get back to shore further along the coast - he got back to our place by pulling himself along the jetties! DD and I managed fine! We paddled out to a buoy and came back in with him yelling for us to turn around from the shore.
