Valkyrie
Good grief give me a mo - still struggling with that blooming tablecloth that looks like it will be next Christmas again! So near and yet so far. Of course if MIL wasn't coming on Boxing day . . . OOH my SS ones can go on there first - not exactly a paper chain though. Sam Palmer
We have a 6 month old kitten, who's running up the curtains and sitting on the curtain pole, amongst other things and started eating the tinsel when we got it out. Even having her spayed yesterday hasn't slowed her down! So we are foregoing a tree this year, as she'll be up it and will try and eat everything on it, so it's too much hassle. We're being minimalist and creative with tinsel around the lights and a few things in inaccessable places. We have a big star made of coloured lights on an internal door and lights on the outside of the house though.
Couperwife
not having a tree wont settle the kitty down, you know that dont you awww, its lovely putting decorations up with pets around, piperkit just sits looking at everything all wide eyed she doesnt usually try and steal stuff (but saying that, she is only 10, so maybe later - when im not looking ) cathy x
Seagazer
We lived in a first floor maisonette when we were first married and every day I would come home to find baubles at the bottom of the stairs where the cats had been playing with the tree all day long - bless

Charlottechicken
Finally got the tree up It's a six foot artificial tree , on a table too, with all my best Poundland decorations on It's decorated the same every year, with snowflakes and lametta and a little angel hair, I just like it to look like it's been snowed on Oh, and I have lots of little parcels of mulled wine spices on it too so it smells divine Lights were up on the outside of the house on 1st December, along with the wreath on the door, but I like putting the tree up on Christmas Eve

Valkyrie
OK are you ready mods? Because these piccies preview small enough but just overlap when they come up - bah humbug! Bottom of the bannisters (please ignore revolting carpet and underlay on the half landing) -they also have cinammon sticks bound with raffia. The lights usually run along the ceiling to the top bannister (they've fallen down as you can see in the previous photo) Then the fireplace - at least the lights show up a bit better on this one Finally my wreaths on the inner doors - I don't cover the cupboards though (usually have cards on those - bit like the reflection in the mirror on the dividing doors), have 5 wreaths in all and 3 have the pheasants. Wreaths and apples came from Hobbycraft and I made up the rest. One pheasant came from Hobbycraft and the other 2 found in a garden centre when I went to Abingdon with my neighbour recently. Alis girls
I have 2 of those pheasants on my tree to keep away from the cats. One them was minus a beak but found it and stuck it back on i now have squirrels too and hope to add to the forest theme when I hit the sales at the garden centre - couple of deer and fox (ooh bad word on this forum ) and a badger - very tasteful
