Chicken Boy
Hi All, Just wanted to pop a quick post to say hi and that our new Eglu Go and 3 Black Rocks were delivered on Friday. Always wanted to keep Chickens, and after a visit from a friend who keeps them a few weeks back decided to take the plunge. They seem to be settling in well, and I was very suprised to find two eggs in the nest box yesterday morning. Just cleaned them out after lunch today and found another one thats been laid today, so very chuffed! I was told I wouldn't get eggs for another 4 weeks, so I'm quite pleased, though I don't expect them every day at this stage. Our hens are called Hetty, Daisy and Chick Chick (guess which one our three year old son named?). All in all, I'm really excited to have them, and have been getting the backyard secured to allow them to free range properly. Looking forward to reading more posts on here and learning stuff from you guys. Cheers, Dan AKA Chicken Boy

Chicken Boy
Ok, so popped downstairs and took a few piccies of the Chooks. Hetty and Chick Chick (still not sold on that name!): Daisy being antisocial: Chick Chick is by far the most bold and inquisitve: (Let me know if I need to tweak picture sizes) Done it for you - Egluntyne. I cannot do anything with the run or Eglu without her having a go at the 10 fat 'worms' wiggling away...

debbier
Hiya, I'm not a million miles away from you: welcome to the mad world of chickens When I was a youngster, I named my hamster Hammy, so I can entirely sympathise with your son's choice of name. You know that Chick Chick has stuck now, don't you? Love it! I think she may be. She's a touch bigger in size than the other two, but her wattle and comb is smaller. Not sure if thats an indicator of age or not? I know for a fact that Chick Chick (See? You've got me doing it now!) is laying, as she tucked herself away this afternoon and layed a nice sized egg. Not sure about the others.
