puddleduck Posted January 10, 2010 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Hello all, I got 2 17 week old columbines last august (now approx 35 weeks old), 1 hen developed and laid within weeks sadly the second, although has a very red face has no comb and is yet to lay or even crouch. previous to this I had a columbine which I lost due to becoming egg bound. Saronne Posted January 10, 2010 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Elvis 1 (Legbar) has been laying blue eggs for a few weeks now, but her sister, Elvis 2, has not started. She started crouching on Thursday and her little comb has grown in the past few days and is a definite shade of red rather than a pathtic pink, her wattles have gone into overdrive too. One sign that 'things' may be happening is that your girl may start to pack on the pounds - Joy has really bulked up since early December. Margaret Posted January 11, 2010 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Posh Marjorie ( as in too posh to push ) Has never laid and she is now almost a year old, keeping fingers crossed for next year, sweet little violet laid her first egg on 23rd Dec, so a nice Christmas pressy for us. rufusrooster Posted January 12, 2010 Share Posted January 12, 2010 some of you may remember Gene as ive posted about her before, one of my 1st 3 birds arrived on 7th July 09, at supposedly 7 months old, so now 56 weeks and still nothing, her comp and wattles have grown since we got her but they are not very big yet, although sometimes they are really red, this is her when we 1st got her and this is her about 5/6 weeks later. her comb & wattles are now about 1/2" in size, still do not know what breed she is and funnily enough i actually met the guy who supplied her to the store where i got her from, he was sure she was a pure breed cochin ? but no feathers on legs and she has a crest. anyhow i'm hoping she may strt laying Feb / March Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If she was hatched from a blue or green egg this means her mother was a blue egg layer which means her father was a large breed. This means she would lay a cream/tinted egg. If she was hatched from a cream/tinted/brown egg this means her mother was a large breed and her father was a blue egg laying breed. This means she would lay a blue/green/pastel egg.
