Chook n Boo Mum
Thank you everyone for your support, it it really is invaluable! And yes I've changed my name & somewhat cut down my signature so I'm less likely to be recognised by someone local to us who may just lurk on here gleaning info, sorry if it confuses anyone, but I'm still me!! Chook n Boo Mum
Quick update: DH has been diagnosed with a cavernoma in his left temporal lobe which showed up on the MR scan 2 weeks ago, this is what they believe caused the seizure and may go on to cause another, so DH is now on low dose medication for the rest of his days it could be removed surgically, but the neuro consultant doesn't recommend it as the risk from the problem is not high enough, as DH has had it from birth & it's taken 58+ years to cause a problem.....he's happy to refer to a brain surgeon for a discussion/second opinion though. He may have been having mini-seizures for a while, so he's going to keep DH on his list for a while to monitor him.........and he can't drive for at least a year Thank you all for your support, both on here and privately it really is greatly appreciated Sha x

Olly
Gosh, never heard of one of those ... as you say, if he's had it for 58 years and this is the first problem, hopefully it will go on not being a problem, subject to medication. Glad to hear you've got a diagnosis at last.

Daphne
Well, I guess thats good news, knowing the problem. I've just googled it and its obviously pretty rare. I do hope the meds work and that your OH not being able to drive isn't too much of a strain for both of you.

craftyhunnypie
Hi Sha, This has terrified me, as my hubby is also a lot older than me (same difference as you) & you naturally worry don't you. I pray that with all your love & nurturing, your hubby will be ok. Hugs to you all. Emma.x
Seagazer
I'd never heard of it either so googled it. Its good that medication can control it. All the best to you and your hubby.
