2 of the lights have arrived The cheeky £5er one which I didn't know what it was, is a gobo rotator (projects words or images) and I've found one the same online for £70!

Needs a new lamp and I'll but some gobos for it

 

Just cooking some pasta for lunch and then we're going to the Hippodrome later - I got us some free tickets for the panto, Sleeping Beauty

Young 'uns (under 26) can get them, so might be worth a look: night less ordinary

Thanks Lewis, goodness, I've never heard of that scheme. OK, I'm not under 26, but I know some peeps who are! Will def. look into it sometime, the offers include our local (1o miles Watford) rep. so fingers crossed.

A gobo is a piece of metal with holes cut in, you shine a light through it and it projects the image

The black and white ones:

You can get anything on them, like your own logo

and this one takes 35mm slides aswell The rotator is just the light and it turns the gobo round -

 

 

Its really easy to do, just check availability and you book the tickets then need to take photo ID to collect them today (need to go before 6.30)

I'm just looking out my gold lame hotpants with matching platform thigh high boots for tonight's parents evening at my DDs school. This is the first one at this school so I really feel I should make the effort. Sadly DH won't be back in time for it which is a shame as I know he really wanted to wear his mankini. Never mind, there's always DS's 6th Form evening.

Oh my!! I've actually used a gobo thingy with out knowing it We used to project pics and things onto walls when i worked in a childrens centre.

Oh Clootie - what delightful sounding outfits I really want to see the pictures, and can you recommend a good mankini supplier, as I reckon that would be ideal for Phil to wear at our next local community meeting. I, of course, will be wearing my boob tube, dancing leggings, and leg warmers

 

I am experimenting with a new Fennel recipe tonight to go with our trout. Wish me luck

A gobo rotator is when you spit at a fan and it goes around the room - very useful in hot summers.

I really liked the fennel, Phil said it reminded him of pineapple

 

It was steamed, then browned in butter and then braised in cider and cider vinegar with a little sugar and salt

We just had fish and chips for tea, they were really yummy. I had curry sauce all over mine. Oliver's only just woken up from his nap so he's tucking in now, he always seems to be half an hour behind the rest of us.
