Just finished watching tonight's Silent Witness. Well, I say watching, oh my word, how tense!!! It's not normally like that. ED and I have been watching through our fingers, me hiding behind my scarf, and then both of us quite literally turning away and looking at the local paper. Can you tell we are complete wusses? She has an excuse, as she is 12, but me? Just a big wuss

It was brilliant wasn't it? This is the first series we've watched and OH has fallen asleep watching the last couple of weeks but last night's kept us on the edge of our seats. Even ES sat down and watched some of it with us.

I thought it was brilliant too - kept thinking all the way through tho of all the poor students in the US who have had to go through something like that. It looked very realistic.

I was seriously worried about the advisability of showing this subject matter. There is a similar story line running all this week in Doctors too. I hope that I am wrong but this could send out a very worrying message.

I've been watching Doctors too this week Jillus and I know what you mean. Trouble is in the end you wouldn't be able to show anything on television would you?

 

I can still remember going to pick up my two eldest children from school on the day of that tragedy in Dunblane, so absolutely awful.

I guess you are right, but it just seems a bit too clear about how to do it and how to get away with it. Maybe I just worry too much.

 

I too remember Dunblane, as my son was at a boarding school in Perthshire and all I heard was the newsflash about a shooting at a school in Perthshire. I was worried sick for ages and then felt guilty because I was relieved that it was not his school.

or was it? Hmmm . . . . (I don't mean not being clever, about it being a twist? Wasn't it the boy with the brown hair who put the cd in the envelope to send to the police? Unless I saw that bit wrong. I was watching through my fingers/scarf/cushion/facing away etc lol)

 

after re-watching it, I thinkImay have got i wrong. I think I may hve got it mixed up with Doctors, which like someone else said, is of a similar storyline this week, and a boy on that sent in a cd to the police. Sorry!

I must admit it had me fooled, I thought the boy in the bathroom was innocent but then remembered the things his mum had said about him.

 

I was a little disappointed by the quick ending to the second episode especially after such a gripping first episode.

Yes, why is it that so many pieces crack along enthrallingly then seem to fall prey to the " Crickey, we've only got five minutes left lets just throw in some sort of ending" scenario?

X weeks later? No excuse

I'm inclined to agree with that. It did finish with a bit of a whimper.

 

Still, the most exciting SW story in a while.

 

I wish Leo would cheer up.
