riven
Just looking at some of the pictures of setups and feeling a bit jealous. Our run is a stinking mudbath half the winter (on slabs) and the eglu gets filhty so quickly. How do you all do it?
Falkor
Only take pics just after clean out!
MargotT
I too was mightily fed up with our stinking muddy run for the Eglu Classic so i moved to using the pond liner/aubiose set-up. It was the best thing I’ve done for the girls; so much more hygienic, easier to keep clean and they seem happier too (although that could be my imagination). riven
How do you stop rain getting in and pooling on top of the liner?
Ain't Nobody Here
Ikea shower curtains or if you have a windy garden, corrugated plastic sheets from B&Q or similar .
riven
getting the cube soon and hoping things stay cleaner longer It gets so bad that sometimes my girls are a teeny bit bedraggled. MOved the eglu today (why oh why doesn't the run unclip easily from the eglu for eay dragging?) and put aubiose down (on the slabs) so I can scrub the area where the cube will go. jess1merlin
I had my cube on slabs but the aubiose in the run was always getting wet and horrible. The run was covered with a tarp but I think the water used to run in from the slabs that surrounded the run as they were not dead level. Solved the problem by putting down a concrete slab the same size as the cube run which is level and it makes life so much easier.
The Dogmother
Yup, you need to keep the run covered with a clear tarp or something similar. Chooks with wet feet seem to succumb to illness and foot problems quicker.
