Louise
I have a new car Why am I upset Herbie goes to his new home on Thursday morning I am going to miss him so much He has one broken wing mirror, one wonky window, a power steering fluid leak, needs a new set of tyres, rusty exhaust and fuel tank and lots of other 'little' things wrong I don't want him to go I am going to need bereavement counselling over this
Guest
I was looking forward to meeting the now infamous Herbie in March as well.... What did you get to replace him?
Louise
Sorry Shona it became an urgent priority to get rid I do 300 miles a week and he is just not reliable enough without major work I have bought a Toyota Yaris and I go to collect her (too pretty to be a boy) on Thursday after work I drop Herbie off on the way to work and the chapo buying him will run me the rest of the way via his daughters nursery Hopefully there won't be any problems with the new one BTW the new car is PINK
buffie
My car is still on the drive awaiting an ebay listing. I have to be honest I don't get fond of cars Herbie was lucky to have you Louise BBx
Mrs Frugal
Oh Louise. I know how you feel . I was really upset to part with Meg The Egg, especially to a nasty Ka but I changed that at the weekend for Sexy Fred and he's gorgeous so hopefully you'll find that your new car has a personality all of its own and you'll get on like a house on fire. The Dogmother
You lucky girl - will she get on with my green shed when I bring it in March? They'll look so pretty together. Shall we bring some 'liquid counselling'?

Nicola H
Sorry to hear poor Herbie has to go Louise but your new car sounds fab................ My new car also has to go due to being stolen I now don't want it back so am trading it in for something less nickable, I loved my Golf but it isn't worth the hassle............Now a pink Yaris sounds very appealing, I would like to see 3 skin heads stealing that.............. The Dogmother
That's why I love my green shed Nicola - no-one would be seen dead in it!
Guest
It's quite sad that we feel we have to have the most 'ordinary' cars. I would have liked the bright orange colour in my car, but I ended up having an ordinary blue so it wouldn't be too noticable on the drive Clare I think your little green van is very PS So sorry about Herbie Louise but I like the sound of your new car
Louise
So do I as I have just noticed a pool of what could be brake fluid next to Herbie so he may not be going on Thursday after all as I would have to get that fixed before I move him on I am now frantically trying to find the mechanically minded person on site to have a quick look and track down one of my neighbours to get a lift home and in again tomorrow I also need the number for a mobile mechanic
Louise
Phew power steering fluid so I can still drive him I think he is doing this on purpose

chocchick
Poor Herbie, he sounds in a sorry state I love my Yaris, although it's in an interesting shade of green and it has a rude name due to my Mum getting confused with children's book characters
Cate in NZ
I was half expecting this to be an obituary for a certain attractive young cockerel well known to Clare and Lesley So sorry to hear about your Herbie though Louise, I do hope that you get him fixed and sent off to a loving new owner, and the Pink Yaris replacement is reliable and gorgeous Kate who on earth is sexy Fred . I have to say that he sounds a whole heap more interesting than Meg the Egg........... but maybe that's just a reflection of the way my horrible mind works . Do come and explain
