I was really impressed to see a full page advert in "HEAT" magazine by the RSPCA trying to make people aware of the conditions that supermarket eggs may have been laid in.

There is a link - all interesting stuff.

How refreshing to see an ad like this in a magazine usually known for its rather flimsy content

Where did I read about the 'code' on eggs

Something like -

0 = free range

1 = barn

3 = battery

 

Then a 2 letter code ie GB for UK, FR for France etc???

 

then a 5 digit farm code - did i dream it?

Mostly CORRECT! O is organic and Free Range is FR. I think.

Glad to see this................the plight of the battery hen needs to be kept constantly in the public's mind then maybe things will change. It really needs the push for a change to come from the consumer.

Its really good to see this, but its a bit odd that they dont even acknowledge that organic eggs exist! They should raise people's expectations and desires a bit further, I think!
