I am looking for a simple plain leather thong necklace with a few, or even one, silver plain beads on it. Its a pressie for my son for passing his 11+. We did this for our ED when she passed and got her a pair of silver snail shell earrings (They are actual tiny shells coated in silver )

I have been hunting and hunting and can't find anything. I'm looking to spend about £20, which I know it not a lot, but its just a token and a reminder for him when he is older.

This one is really nice, but the beads aren't silver, which is what I'd ideally like. I shall have a look at the other suggestions. Sometimes tinternet is really good for finding things, and other times, is just plain annoying grr

 

EDIT: Salt Rock don't have any jewellery unfortunately, and I have had a look at Joe Browns. Sadly nothing there either

I know I'm after something quite plain though, not with dangly bits. I think I shall have to make one myself. I've found a bead site http://www.beadaddict.co.uk/uk/silver6.htm which has some lovely silver beads on it, and are a very good price.

How about Joe Browns? They are surfy type shop online and a lot of their stuff is unisex.

How about making some in silver clay, once fired it's 99.9% silver, purer than sterling, and would be so much more personal if you had made it..........you are only in Salisbury, I'd be happy to meet up & help you

I was going to suggest having a look on Folksy for someone who does handmade pieces, find a crafter whose work you like and ask them to make you something to order.

Next did a ladies bracelet in the style you mentioned. It's not mega girlie. Perhaps they do something for men?

Argos tend to have a lot of men jewellery too.

I noticed last year that Trollbeads had a mens leather necklace with a bead on it..........but they weren't cheap if I remember correctly. There may be copies around now though.

That is really nice and exactly what I have been looking for. I'm going to get the stuff from the site I mentioned earlier and some silver beads and make my own one.
