Busybird
DD came back from the stables on Saturday evening with a request. A friend had a chicken wander into her garden a few weeks ago and they have been unable to find out who owns it. She wants us to take it Does this count as a Chicken of Fate? So I needed to sort out housing as we already had 4 girlies in our eglu. I phoned a friend who I thought might be able to help but her empty house has been given away. So, over Sunday dinner we were talking about options and OH said... we could get a cube I had been browsing the Eglu's and Cubes For Sale section that morning (as you do ) so knew that there was a pink cube with run and extension (perfect!) for sale in a village less than half an hours drive from here - it was meant to be!! I went to see it on Monday afternoon, decided to take it, dismantled and took away half and dragged OH out of work early to whizz over before it got dark to dismantle the rest and get it home Today I did what I never thought I would be able to do on my own and built a cube and run - it only took me 3 hours I am still almost shaking with excitement but here, may I show you all (cue drum roll) The Pink Penthouse The chicken garden now looks like this from the back and like this from the front The girls enjoying their new home I have a perfectly wonderful OH

Dharma chick
Hi Busybird, Wow, we are so impressed- its amazing that you managed to put it together on your own. Did you have need to use the instructions we gave you or did you remember from when you took it to pieces! Are garden look more spacious now and i think the girls now enjoy dive bombing without the cube in the way. So glad we could help, it was obviously meant to be for all of us! Enjoy, hope Noodle and her new friend settle in well. Best wishes Dharma chick

Busybird
Thanks everyone and especially Dharma chick whose Pink Palace became our Pink Penthouse. We are all so very pleased with it I did use the instructions - and still had to redo a few bits when I realised I hadn't read a few paragraphs properly The girlies seem to have worked out how to use the superglug and one girl found her way to bed on her own this evening - the rest had to be 'posted' in but soon settled. They have even chosen to roost on the bars rather than the nesting area After a very busy but very happy day I think I deserve a glass of wine
