Lewis
Great photos! Your new girls are lovely but i must say i love your turkey Well done you both for rescuing her, she looks gorgeous and i am very envious! Just asked OH if we could have one and he doesn't think we have the room Does she get on ok with the chickens? Does she live with them or seperately? You're back *waves* Lewis would love a turkey too, but heard they're best kept separately from chickens as they can carry blackhead disease - will ave to just go to the farm to visit them
Mollie333
Hi Thanks for all the comments, Cheryl lives with 2 big hybrid girls and get on very well, as far as i know my turkey has not spread diesese over my poultry, but thanks for the warning and i will do some research. As i was saying they get on very well and she eats layers pellets, and a handfull of corn daily, she is very friendly and good with my little neice, they do need alot of room, and we fourtunatly have a big garden, but she is noisy.. Haha she stands at my window and calls for me. Shes beautiful, i reccomend turkeys, but only if you have the room, and they do HUGE 'leavings...' http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb37/3Mol3/Chickens020.jpg Edited March 23, 2010 by Guest

Mollie333
I think they are silkie x pekins? she gets on fine with the chickens, she can get out of the coope but she cant get back through the hole. LOL, but there is a bigger door on the back which she goes through..
