Thought Saturday's show was brilliant, especially Danielle who seemed to enjoy herself so, so much

 

We thought Sophie was the weakest but have just watched the results show and were at the bottom two. We had tears in our eyes at the end. Such a shame, definitely the wrong girl has gone (imo)

Thought Danielle was absolutely brilliant - she had me smiling (and ALW come to that) throughout. My other favourite is Lauren.

Danielle to win for me, though I love Lauren and Jessica too. Thought their 3 performances last night were absolutely fantastic.

 

Surprised at the bottom 2 as I think Sophie and Jenny are the weakest....I love the camp drama of it all, especially the giving back of the shoes!!

My OH really likes Jenny too but I think she could be in danger if she gets into the bottom two as I don't feel she's expressive enough, the others said that she struggles with the dancing too. In Sunday's show we couldn't even see her in the group dance.

 

Meant to say that Lauren's song was brilliant too although I still can't warm to her for some reason.

 

I agree re Danielle, we all sat with huge smiles on our faces and laughed when we saw ALW with a big grin on his face.

DD and I went to one of the live Over the Rainbow sing a long events at the Shaftesbury theatre yesterday.

 

It was very well organised and great fun (and free ). 3 of the voted out Dorothys were there to sing and support a band, the BBC singers, Tim Steiner and Jodie Prenger.

 

Has anyone else been to one of these?

Well ladies, what do you think of the latest round?

 

I was astonished that both Lauren and Danielle should be in the bottom 2 this weekend. Whatever people's personal preferences Lauren surely is the best singer of the lot and Danielle IS Dorothy in so many ways!

 

I thought Jess was very lovely in her sendoff and I loved her character. Can't believe Sophie is still there - she is pretty as a picture but looks permanently terrified!

If you look they seem to be going in rotation it's been Steph, Lauren, Danielle, Sophie, Steph, Lauren, Danielle. so if it follows the pattern it should be Steph and sophie in the bottom two next week.

 

Anyway over all i thought that none of the girls did that well this week. I mean they all produced ok performances but there wasn't one that really knocked me out like Danielles Mambo Jenny's songbird or stephanie's smile. Danielle got a difficult song and did it ok but had some problems, Jenny's was just the wrong song for her she sang it beautifully but somehow i feel she was just too young for it and for all the subtexts. I couldn't actually remember what jessica and sophie sang i had to go and look so that sortof says it all really and Stephs song wasn't over acted if you'd just seen the whole play but just having that song it seemed a bit too much and made me feel awkward. Lauren sings so beautifully but somehow i always worry for her when she moves i feel like she's going to fall over every time her feet leave the floor it's very odd.

 

I think i have to take the trophy for armchair judging there. lol

Woodcat you definitely are the best armchair judge! Your views are almost the same as mine this week.

 

I really worried about Danielle after they did the Dorothy 'mash up' songs as she fluffed the high note at the end. Jessica because of her slight lisp had trouble with her section but for us the best was Sophie in that little bit.

 

Danielle is still our favorite though, I just can't warm to Lauren at all. Sophie looks like Dorothy but I don't think is experienced enough. I think Stef looks too old although I do like her voice.

 

I really felt for Lauren and Danielle being in the bottom two this weekend although I agreed with the two that went. I think Sophie could be in the firing line next.

Game over. It HAS to be Danielle - she is a natural actress and I agree with the Lord (who is so transparent it's hilarious!). I love this show.

Sophie is just a normal girl. I think Lauren & Danielle are just a bit too sure of themselves for my liking. Steph is sweet too.

I'd love to see Sophie win it. Loved her singing Reflection & the South Pacific classic! I think she does the American accent well. I can imagine her red hair in innocent Dorothy plaits.

Lauren is starting to annoy me now. She reminds me of the wind up music box doll, from the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang film. Sort of wooden dolly / robotic movements - when she scurries around the stage in her heels.

Something with Danielles eyes I don't like - sort of over blinking & cockyness?

danielle is a lovely girl, she is (or was) a member of the mid-cheshire amateur operatic society, she's a good friend of krysia's and I've seen her in an MCAOS performance. She's a lovely girl and quite shy so maybe she's overcompensating for that shyness. I don't think she deserves to be called cocky but you're entitled to your opinion.

 

we (me and DH) don't like sophie but for different reasons.

From the auditions Danielle was my favourite. The Wizard of Oz is my favourite film ever and I think she captures everything about Dorothy in looks and mannerisms. I also like Sophie, she has a great voice. So I wouldn't mind if either of them won.

 

I don't like Lauren or Steph - a bit too wooden with no charisma for me.

Missed tonight's show, so just caught up on the performances of iplayer.

 

Lauren was ok ,loved Sophie, thought Danielle was fantastic and loved her Prince of Egypt song. Not sure about Steph this week, I found her voice had aged and she sounded much older.

we think it's between lauren and danielle. we like steph but just can't see her as dorothy somehow, she seems too mature to be an innocent young girl but she has an amazing voice.

 

I'm sure that whatever happens, all those girls have brilliant careers ahead of them.

I agree about Steph, she is almost too sophisticated to be Dorothy. I think Lauren and Danielle will be the final 2 but again, Lauren seems slightly too poised. But I wouldn't mind if she got it. Sophie just needs another year or 2 and to enjoy herself a but more. It will be a travesty if Danielle doesn't win.

My faves are Danielle and Steph. Danielle has a real flair for comedy, and appears to me to be the most convincing actress.

What a horrible collection of songs they had to sing tonight?

Really, really enjoyed last nights show. Well surely (IMO) there is only one Dorothy, it has to be Danielle. When she did her little Dorothy speech it actually brought a tear to my eye. She has such an expressive face but its not contrived like I feel Lauren's is. Lauren seems to overact all the time. I really, really enjoyed Danielle's songs too.

 

We also like Sophie but I feel she's not quite ready yet although she does seem to be coming into her own. Steph just seems too old to me and I don't know if it was the songs or if she has a cold or something but her voice grated on me last night. I know Lauren has a great voice but I just don't like her.

 

The judges actually annoyed me last night, it was like they all really wanted to talk over each other and seemed to disagree just for the hell of it. Did think Sheila was right to speak up for herself though after Charlotte mistook what she was talking about.
