Crooked Chicken
Can anyone tell me why they do this? It not good for neighbourhood relationships!!!! I had 4 chooks, then three of them died within a month of eachother due to a viral infection. Judy is left on her own. She always use to be fairly vocal, but now she actually crows. What am I to do? I can hear her in the morning when I'm lying in bed (that's a front bedroom!). The other day, I was coming back from a bike ride and I could hear her from several streets away! It's embarrassing and I'm just waiting for the doorbell to ring with a complaint. H E L P!!!
Snowy
Some of them can develop cockerel tendencies - as they age it's a hormonal thing. But it could just be that she's shouting for company. Hens are very much flock creatures and don't do well on their own.
Patricia W
I agree with Snowy - it's a cry of desperation for company! Could you not get her a couple of friends? Tricia
