Chucky Mama
OH has just looked at our bank balance and someone used it yesterday to buy £250 worth of designer clothes plus about £800 of other stuff over the last week . This is now the 3rd time We will be able to get the address of the recipient of the clothes from the website that supplied them but the police will - like the last time almost certainly not act on the information. It just gets passed to the banks fraud team who are too late to catch those responsible.
Egluntyne
Oh no. How infuriating. What a good job you check it regularly.
Chucky Mama
He is very hot on checking but he has been so busy since Easter it has been a week or so since he checked so they have managed to spend a fair bit. He tried to pay the congestion charge online last night and had problems as the cheeky so and sos had changed his verified by visa password He had to reset it for what it's worth. LuckyChickenLover-
Someone I know had their details stolen a few times, usually by people who had hacked their paypal and ebay accounts. I hope whoever stole your details is caught
ubereglu
Oh no, not again. At least you've now noticed though, which is good. I take it you've now rung the card company and got it sorted though.
abwsco
What a nightmare Police aren't interested and neither are the banks from my bosses experience even though they also had CCTV of them in the branch making a £££££ withdrawal. You've probably already done it but it's worth getting copies of your credit reports and although the name escapes me now, you can pay to register somewhere that means fraudsters can't easily get credit in your name as there are all sorts of extra checks involved. Chucky Mama
Yep, phoned bank, it now looks like he put it into a dodgy ATM. He used one and after putting the pin number in it refused payment and spat the card out. This happened in Watford and shortly afterwards they started spending in Watford. I am hopping mad at the fact that by tomorrow we will have their address but no one cares. It appears that it is cheaper or easier to pay us the money back rather that get those responsible Yes you are quite right, last time they ordered a credit card AND managed to change the address for delivery to theirs rather than ours - thankfully we found out soon enough. It is interesting that 2 out of 3 times it has not happened as a result of online transactions.
abwsco
The ATM at our local Barclays is one that shuts down if it's tampered with. Not sure if they're the same at all Barclays though. I don't bank with them but only use those ATM's. Could be worth checking.
theherd123
You must feel so frustrated and angry. This has happened to us once and it's once too many!
Ain't Nobody Here
How infuriating . Lucky it was spotted before too much time passed. My credit card company sends me an automated call checking my last 5 transactions if there is ever unexpected activity on my card - they usually freeze the card too which can be a pain but it's worth it to know they're always alert to fraud. Olly
Sorry to hear that, had my cards stolen once and it's so frustrating - takes ages to get everything sorted, and as you rightly say, the police are just not interested. I'm very bad at checking my bank account ... ought to check more often, really.
