Christian
Hello all great fonts of knowledge My blackcurrant bush (could be white currant as I have two, but lost the label ) has about 30 small brown creatures on its stems. They look like small dark brown pistachio nut shells, with white foam underneath. When you pick them off, they are sticky and a yellow/red juice pops out of them when you squish them I have only squished one, in case they are beneficial - but I doubt it. The ants are all over them. I have googled but can't see anything like it on the t'interweb. Any ideas? Thanks
Cinnamon
Odd,but I just went to look at my blackcurrants to find that they had Greenfly. They were fine 3 days ago Some of the leafs are curling up too,but not browning...very odd

Just checked my blackcurrants, happy to say they are free of these, and the grape vines, phew! Have you tried smothering them in a bit of Ecover washing up liquid foam, or vaseline (sorry, that's not particularly organic), to suffocate them? Christian
I used washing up liquid and water to spray them and then just s"Ooops, word censored!"ed them off (wearing gloves) Hopefully that'll do the trick...!
