Chicken Mummy at last

Recommended Posts

I have 7 very good looking girls ( all ex batts )

The little monster trashed the run within 30 mins, upturned feeders and drinkers. The have eaten the contents of the dust bath. They have piled the woodchip into one corner. :shameonu:

They are great.

Welcome to mother-hood.

Im currently VERY broody, and i want, wait no, NEED some ex batts.

*as you see, this is just one example of what mother-hood of chickens is like..

highly addictive, i must say. i went to Pages Poultry to get 3 POL chucks, ended up buying 2 pekins and 2 silkie x pekins, then going back a hour later and picking up another pekin. Then getting 2 hybrids, then 2 silkie girls.. now ex batts..:lol:

Betty, Rita ,Mavis, Blanche, Hilda, Vera and Raquel our first day of freedom.

Poor old girls have struggled today with the heat.

One jumped out the cube as the door opened, the others had to be persuaded. Poor old Mavis (the smallest and least feathered is the timid one) she took 3 hours to get enough courage to venture out.

They have scratched the wood chip into the boxes I've put down to use as nesting boxes, When I threw a handful of corn in they looked at me as if to say " And what do we do with that" a few have had a peck at it. Grapes & strawberrys have been left.

But I have had 6 eggs my 19 month old daughter has just had egg for her T and I will be doing the same.

OK Iv'e managed to get the photos into photobucket but I cannot get them onto the post.

Sorry will ask Hubby when hes home from work.

Just seen the girls have a worn frenzy. Put a pot of worms in the run enough for a few each, but they couldn't get to grips with just taking one , they had the let Bold Betty get a worm then they would all chase her and steel it. Betty then had to get another and it all started again. Silly girls
