WitchHazel
We've been losing eggs from one of the coops on our allotment for a litle while. Even china eggs disappeared. Our poor broody has lost a couple of her fertile eggs and we put a camera down to see if we could find out whether it was rats or magpies. DH went back after an hour to check it was working, and we already have our answer. http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b23/dannahaz/?action=view¤t=magpies.flv The Broody was inside, which is why the magpie came out so quickly. And did you see its friend stealing the bird food as well! Blummen things.
tom123
I had that problem too, try attaching strips of feed bags on to the top of the pop hole, the hens push through but the Magpies wont
WitchHazel
Thanks for that tip Tom. I had thought about doing something along those lines, but I didn't think the hens would go through. I'll try that out and let you know how I get on. Thanks again.
Lewis
Hopefully the feed bags/cloth draped over the doors will help!
