stehaggan
Hi guys, I'm new to chicken keeping but read all about these fox attacks and it is not a nice prospect. Mine stay in a WIR but i have bought a sonic scarer from ebay for £15 and saw the same one in b and q today for £20. I have mine in the WIR turned on as a back up incase any fox/cat ever got in. It emits a pitch that only cats/foxes are supposed to hear and it scares them off. I don't know if anyone else has one, if they think they work or don't but just thought i'd post this incase anyone wanted to try them for extra peace of mind. Sorry to hear all your losses
janette1954
I have a walk in run and 2 fox watches,I do get foxes in the garden but up till now no death by fox......all that changed this afternoon when my beautiful Heather was attacked by next doors new dog and had to be put to sleep, I lost Barbara to their previous dog 9 months ago which leaves me with elderly, heartbroken Betty

Burtie14
Our Walk In Run is hopefully fox-proof as it's on a base of concrete, but that hasn't stopped a couple of foxes wandering right up to have a nosey at the girls and thinking about how to get it. While they're safe, it's still a bit frightening for them. We've got a FoxWatch, and to be honest it's hard to tell if it's genuinely working or not. I think a lot depends on how it's positioned. We previously had it facing toward the run, which is when we had a couple of foxy visitors. Now Foxwatch sits at the entrance to the run, facing outwards away from the chickens. Touch wood, we don't seem to have had any visits.
Mollie333
Not experianced with FoxWatch, but i wouldn't think its 100% fox scarer, but if your run is secure, it should be ok. sorry for your loss.
