Leicester_H
I know this has been discussed on here before but I can't find it so would appreciate some help. Just noticed that my girls all have clods of stuff stuck to their feet - Boo is by far the worst - she can't grip pearch or walk properly on hard surfaces. I just picked her up and stood her in warm water for 10 mins (she was really good, bless her) and still couldn't shift more than 10% of it. I has sponge, nail brush - both were useless - used blunt skewer to very carefully tease some of the clod apart but not much good. Any tips ? Thanks as always, H
Redwing
I soak them then stick a cocktail stick between the mud and claw, I make a few holes like this then soak again so the water gets in to the centre of the mud then use the cocktail stick in the same way to ping the malteser off
Cinnamon
I sometimes snip away at it with secateurs, but it needs a sharp eye & a very steady had, plus its a 2 person job.
Leicester_H
Hi - Thanks. You reminded me tha I actually have some of these http://www.lakeland.co.uk/bumper-pack-of-cleaning-sticks/F/keyword/stick/product/8612 Use around the house/kitchen - when past their best they get relegated to utility room (they are great for cleaning inside the grub - back recessed part where there hook over bars). Hooked, pointed plastic end helped with Boo's claws - 90% fixed. H
Leicester_H
I got 90% of it off on sunday but by the time I got home yesterday evening, they had built up again. Don't understand why its so bad at the moment (we thought it was because they may have been out after grass was cut and lots of it had stuck and formed rock-hard balls - but that wasn't the case yesterday) - any ideas ? Also, I assume it doesn't hurt her ? (I don't have time to clean her claws everyday - unless it really is essential) H
Margaret
The only time I had malteser feet was when I used Hemcore instead of Auboise !!! Not sure but Auboise seems to be less fiberious. my Girls quite like a pedicure though, but I do soak their feet for quite a few minutes, one foot at a time, and gently rubbing and pulling at the lump, whilst having a natter about what we had both done today.
