Omlet Staff james Posted March 26, 2007 Omlet Staff Share Posted March 26, 2007 Hi guys, We have just launched a new addition to the Omlet Club - a wiki! This is a special set of webpages that can be edited and read by anyone. The purpose of this area is to give you a place to share information about your pets, your eglus, Club get togethers and anything else you feel would be of interest to others in the Club. The new wiki is locate here: http://wiki.omlet.co.uk I have just put up a few pages of information to get it started, but feel free to write new pages and edit existing ones (including the front page). I think ultimately this will become a really useful resource of information for everyone in the Club. Let me know what you think, Cheerio, James p.s Just in case you aren't familiar with a wiki... here is some information written on the biggest wiki of them all - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki . You will notice the similarities, as we are using the same free open source software as them.
Guest
How exciting! I have added my stockist to the animal feed section. I've never done a Wiki before! And I worked out how to put a box around it!

Mrs Frugal
How did you know what I was writing, Sarah ?
Sheilaz
That is amazing, James. Couldn't resist an edit to spell the plural of sticky as stickies. I hope that's correct, but sticky's wasn't right. I knew how to do that, but it'll take me a while to work out the rest! But well done, it looks a great facility.
The Dogmother
It's great, as it gets used more, perhaps some of the stickies from the forum can move over to it. Will have a proper explore tomorrow when I've had some sleep and my brain's working
buffie
Oh no more places to post, I'll never get anything done. Sounds great and loads of fun. BHWT space perhaps? BBxx
The Dogmother
It'd be great to have a section about the BHWT, adopting ex-batts and their potential need for extra tlc.
chocchick
My 3rd wiki On the other 2 I'm on people have to log in so that you can see who has made changes (see recent changes). At the moment anyone on the web can edit-there might be a lot of spammers. It gives the IP address of the computer at the moment, but I know which change was Sheila as she said
kazaddress
Hi Hope you dont mind, but I have added to the Wiki (I actually run the wiki at work so had some ideas to inspire people to use it)
Omlet Staff james Posted March 27, 2007 Author Omlet Staff Share Posted March 27, 2007 Hi, You are very welcome to make any pages you like It really is open system and can be used for anything that you feel would be of interest. I've started a page to list any ideas for things that we could put on the wiki here: http://wiki.omlet.co.uk/index.php/List_of_ideas_for_the_Omlet_Club_Wiki I am hoping to write up a page on the Battery Hen Welfare Trust over the weekend Cheerio, James p.s. Chocchick - you are right about spammers although alot of wiki's don't get spammed. If ( or rather when) we start getting spam, then we can always switch on the user authentication. Popcorn
Is there a quick way to get to the wiki through the Omlet site or forum or is it best to bookmark it?
Mrs Frugal
I haven't seen a link, Gina, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. It might be best to bookmark it until James lets us know.
