AJuff Posted June 18, 2010 Share Posted June 18, 2010 My DD saw a lovely ceramic blackbird quite a while back at one of our local art galleries. With fathers Day fast approaching she asked if she could buy the bird for her dad. When we went back they were all sold out as were every other gallery I could think of. DD was not happy. Last week I decided to contact the artist himself via email and ask where I could source one before Sunday. He was so nice and said we could come to his house and buy one from his workshop. So after school tonight we drove out to his house and workshop. DD had the choice of four different blackbirds. We met the artist himself and he was very lovely. It made the bird he's made very special too. Whilst we were there he asked if little DD wanted to look at the new chicks!! In his garden there was black star with six beautiful little chicks. He said he was keeping them separate from the others and pointed behind me. As I looked round there was a huge run and six lovely chooks in there. Wellsummer cross, marans and goldlines.
