good news and bad news

Recommended Posts

A while ago me and OH made the decision to leave our big house in Milton Keynes complete with chickens and planned to move back to Reading where our friends are to a smaller house where we won't be able to have chickens :(

Today someone has agreed to rent out our house so it's action stations as to finding a house for us.

I am very happy that we are making a big change to our lives and the work life balance should be a lot healthier.

However I am going to have to say goodbye to my lovely chickens. The plan is to keep the cube and then hopefully in a year we shall be buying somewhere where we can keep chickens again.

So it will be a new home for me and a new home for my chickens though i have yet to find one for them. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do or places to approach.

Good Morning!

I hope you found somewhere suitable, it sounds like you have a plan, shame about not being able to take the chickens. :(

I am also close by (Bicester) and was considering getting a cube and more chickens. If you would like a chat about things please pm me as I might be able to help. :D

Thanks for the help everyone. I am definately having chickens again so keeping the cube in storage for a year till we are sorted.

I have found an organic kids farm place near Aylesbury that is going to take my chooks so they will have lots of space and lots of new friends.

I am going to take them on sunday and not looking forward to it. At least I can go back and see them i wonder if they will remember me!

It will be quiet without chooks and i will definatly miss my poached eggs every morning, but it is only for a year and OH has already said we can get a walkin run and twice as many chooks next year so its not all bad :D

Some days I want to bang my head against a brick wall. :wall::wall:

I took my chooks to the farm to rehome them and now I am not moving and so didn't have to get rid of my chickens.

I am now chickenless and supposed to be moving next week but because issues with the bank we are now not moving :wall::wall:

Did think of going back to the farm to get them but they had so much space and lots of new friends don't think they would benifit going back into the cube.

On the bright side I gave the cube a well needed jet wash!! Think I will go and get more chickens now life is never simple.

It's called the law of SOD and there is a lot of it about. Sorry you got rid of your chickens but look on the bright side

- you now have a clean cube

- you know your old chickens are happy and

- if it ever happens again, you know a good place for them to go AND

You can now start again! Good luck and enjoy
