Deb Dav
We have just got back from a weeks holiday on the Algarve, on the outskirt of Alvor. it was not - going to be even hotter there next week - reaching 45 degrees. So glad to be back in stormy Lincolnshire with the heating on We all enjoyed it - even our 15 year old son We were totally relaxed not a worry in the world - forgot all about the mites in the wooden hen house and the few in the eglu - which prompted us to order a cube so all our 10 girls can be together in one house :D
migsy
Took the kids to a Keycamp holiday in Brittany. Loads of activities for them and they made friends to play with in the evenings. Would recommend it for families.
Griffin
We went to Majorca for a week at the beginning of June, feels like months ago. Nothing else planned, did fancy a weekend away with Mr Griffin next weekend as the kids are staying with their grandparents but don't want to leave my chicks
Chickvic
Just got back from a week in Herne Bay, Kent. Weather was lovely and we had an outdoor pool which was used everyday - usually twice!
Valkyrie
Sore point here. Haven't been on holiday for 2 years. OH has a week off at the end of August and we have safely secured DD into chooksitting for us. So what exciting things are we getting up to (bearing in mind we haven't had a holiday on our own since the outlaws took our dear children away for a holiday in SA several years ago and we went B&Bing all around Hereford, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and all over - no chickens then though)? We are going to HIS cousins for 3 days and 4 nights then 2 days spare and back to another of HIS cousins at the weekend. The word I would like to use next is pretty much likely to be censored on here. I shall be going to Cambridge to look at future smallholdings in those 2 days. He can join me if he wants, otherwise I will move without him too. So there OH and into room 101 he goes.
Olly
I've just got back from a week at National Youth Music Camp, helping out with the catering for 72 children and 35+ helpers and tutors - it was a great week, although tiring - as soon as one meal was finished we seemed to be preparing the next one. There was a chicken theme as the end-of-week show was based on the story of Chicken Licken! I am very very tired today, but it was good fun - I had a 'proper' holiday in January, when I went to Cuba for ten days, but that seems a long time ago now. poachedegg
We had a lovely week in Loch Lomond in a fab posh lodge with DD ( and DS (16), DS had the day before returned from a week helping the Pilgrims at Lourdes so was very chilled - a bonus for us! Came home with a spring in my step and lots of ideas and energy (though the energy seems to have waned somewhat in the week we've been back! )
