I was placing an order for a birthday present and found this book advertised as one I 'may be interested in' - I usually ignore them but had a quick look and decided to buy it.

It's brilliant :D - described as !A nostalgic tribute to the foods we loved' it is a hilarious resume of all those foods we bought in the seventies(and earlier) It has a 'Trolley Embarrassment Factor' rating for each one

I know it's about food but I posted in NB as it's a little bit of fairly recent history and would make a great little present for those 'of a certain age' :D

(the history about the Ploughmans Lunch was quite illuminating 8) )

It's kept me smiling all day - I keep picking it up and reading the next one.

The Smash one particularly - it reminds me of my son who (when aged around 6/7) insisted the ad was "For mash get smashed"

Yep, we sang that too. I would like to point out that my brother started it with us. I expect a fair few other families were singing that version too!

Ooooh Kunzel cakes.
