GGLGirls
Hi. Got home from work last night and let the girls free range as usual. as they were out I noticed Lemon (top girl) was lowering herself to the ground (but not touching), raising her head backwards and neck forwards. At first I thought she was scared of something but she continued to do so around the garden. we checked her over and the crop seemed to ok, (thining is something stuck) and she was not making any noises to indicate she was in pain. On returning to their run I noticed one of their branches had somehow dislodged itself from the tree stumps we have fixed for them to roost, and had fallen down - do you think she could have fallen awkwardly and either winded herself or bruised her chest? At bedtime she took her self off to sleep in the nest box by herself, while the other 2 ladies slept in the 'living room'. This morning she was ok walking about but as soon as she jumped off one of the chairs in the garden, she started to bend funny again. Is there anything I can do for her? Patricia W
They don't indicate if they are in pain because it makes them vulnerable to loosing their pecking order place. If you are really worried, I'd take her to the vet for a once over.
frizz
Having just lost one of mine, I would recommend the vet, the one I used was really lovely even though she still had to put my chuck to sleep, if nothing else you will have peace of mind.
