Hi got my first chooks 6 weeks ago, 1 POL a Calder Ranger now 27 weeks and 3 younger girls now 15 weeks. They seem settled, eat well, have good long periods of free ranging in my urban garden, wormed them with Flubivent 2 weeks ago, still no eggs from the older girl. I've ordered layers pellets to mix with the growers pellets. I'd been advised this was the easiest feed for the 4 untill the younger ones where near POL.

I'm eggsasperated with the daily " No eggs yet" reply. Thinking that I'll just have to be patient and wait for my younger girls to start laying, hopefuly kickstarting Leghorn's egglaying days.

Any advice gladdly acepted.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I don't think there is much you can do - when she's ready, she will lay! Is she crouching yet, and is her comb quite red? POL is a bit of a general term, and she might not be quite as old as you were led to believe, so don't give up hope - eggs may be on their way soon.

Hi Olly

the eggle has landed. Leghorn laid a lovely egg for me this afternoon. !eggbrown!

It'll be good to have a different reply to all at work tomorrow. My work pals were starting to pull my leg.

thanks for the advice.
