Cube price increase! :-(

Recommended Posts

Had the prices risen slowly on a yearly basis as have the price of the composite materials, would everyone be complaining as loudly I wonder ? :?

Of course they wouldn't, but that's because small annual increases can be absorbed by most budgets...if you can afford a £350 hen house, you probably can afford £370....but £450?

Also, what I was complaining about was the fact that I had been asked by husband if I wanted a cube for my Christmas present so I telephoned Omlet to see if the price increase was really going ahead. I was told that no price increase was planned and then the next day the newsletter was published announcing the price increase.

If I had not come onto the forum for a while I would have missed out on the cheaper price as they only gave a weeks notice for the price increase.

I have been saving up for a cube for a long time now and I finally have to admit that I am never going to be able to afford one. I have been looking at the prices for all the modern hen houses and so far the chic cube is looking the most economic at £349 and that includes the extra large run. I love the look of the omlet cube but it is waaaayyy outta my price range

wow! I managed to buy a secondhand cube from the Omlet club. I was going to buy new, with the price going up meant secondhand was best for me. I can't thank the previous family enough for my cube  .

You can get the cube second hand - I got mine through here, for £300 all the bits and run, + delivered and set up for me, if you look long enough you too can own a cube and they are great! Good luck if you decide to buy

I just wanted to say that I didnt mean to cause any controversy over my post. I was not aware that no one else knew and was not told that it was an unknown fact. I haven't logged on for a while and was quite surprised how many posts had been added since I last checked! I didnt want to be thought of as someone who posts things to cause trouble (can't remember the proper name!). Sadly I have given up for now on a cube but I may still keep an eye on ebay sales, just incase a bargain appears!
