The basic recipe from my Nanny is 6 oz self raising flour to 3 oz suet then add water to mix (salt and pepper to taste), I add parsley and other herbs sometimes. Pop them on top of the casserole 30 minutes before the end and if you leave the lid off then you get a crusty top :dance:

 

I would freeze uncooked although never tried it :)
