I want some boots!

Recommended Posts

I need some help please. I want some nice boots, but not sure what to go for. I don't like Uggs, as no ankle support. Quite like Emu's, but I may want some a bit more dressy. I can't just go & buy knee length boots, because of wide lower legs. Can anyone reccomend nice boots & where to buy from. I need some from each end of the price scale - as they are going to be a present for my birthday.

Thanks

I don't like Uggs, as no ankle support.

I have an Ugg style called Ultimate which is more of a proper boot with super grippy sole and a properly formed ankle and they are superb, but not the best from a dressy point of view. Doc Marten do a fab range of more formal type boots but they are still really comfy. I used to live near the factory shop in Northamptonshire and got some lovely heeled boots. Their calves are generous too.

Lol ditto... I'm not sporty, I just seem to have fat calves (calfs??), which I have since complimented with rubbish bum tum and thighs seeing as there's no point looking like a stickwoman stood in a knee high bucket :D I'm far too much of a Nigella to stay slim nowadays too, darn it I have a bakewell tart in the oven right now!

I googled, I enjoyed, I didn't press the add to basket button.

Only because if I did, the site would laugh and then send me derisive mail when my bank refused to pay :) grand total of £3.43 in my account today

Another Duo fan here - they are well worth saving up for, I'm on my second pair of Ravenna boots, the first pair were worn practically every day in winter for about three years so it was good value for money! They are good quality and being able to put boots on and zip them up is just so wonderful, after those hideous moments in shoe-shops and department stores trying to squeeze into 'normal' boots. Go on, save up for a pair - you're worth it!

There are some lovey boots in schuh at the moment. And their customer service is fab too!

The other day I fell over when wearing my new Schuh boots and because they are really soft leather I ripped them :(

I had thrown away the recipt becasue I loved the boots so much and thought I wouldnt need to take them back ( ) but I went into the shop anyways to see if they could do something. We gave them the day we bought them, and the approx. time, and they found the transcation on their system - and exchanged my boots! I now have my lovely boots again, and I will be much more careful in future!

I looked at Duo & they weren't different enough for me to indulge in. There was nothing that shouted that they'd cost over £100 to me. Sorry just my opinion. The different calf widths were good though. I do think it will be a pair of Emus for warmth & some dressy ones from elsewhere -I'll keep looking. Going in a Pavers shop today, so will study.

ooh have a look at the new fitflop boots I am just about to order some. Due to my need for complete support to my feet (arthtritis in ankles) I can only find relief from fit flops and at the moment I am wearing skechers shape up trainers, so was delighted to see fitflop are doing boots, they have some similar to ug boots and some biker style sort.

i was going to buy their lounge slippers as i have to wear my fitflops all the time but they are £60! so will stick to the flip flop if I can manage it during the colder months! nothing like cosy toes though is there!?

I bought a pair of planeish black ones which are great, but would really like some funky lace-up Ugg style ones or some chunky biker style boots.

Shame they seem to be playing it safe style wise.

Avon do their own version of toning slippers Margalot. Not quite the same but may do the trick. <>
