karlotta
I've been a big fan of Wellibobs in the past but when a 6mth old pair developed a big split in the heel and started letting water gush in I emailed Joules to hopefully get a replacement pair (I didn't want my money back... I need the wellies!) Sadly thought they've offered me only half the cost of a replacement pair by way of a credit note... which I think is a real shame. Guess I'll be getting cold/wet feet this year. Chucky Mama
Six months doesn't sound 'fit for purpose' to me. I would have expected a replacement too.
lillybettybabs
Hmmm... thats a little cheeky, Ithink they are trying it on.

Especially when you think I've not used them all summer!! I suppose I've used them for about a month total.

karlotta
I've done that... I've been back and forth on email for about a month. I've now resorted to bad feedback on twitter.
The Dogmother
I had a similar experience with some Cotton Traders fleece lined snow boots... both the boots and their service were total rubbish. Shame really as the boots (when they were watertight) were good. If you can be bothered, I'd quote trading standards at them - that'll put the wind up them. SarahJo
I thought they had a guarantee for 1 year from purchase, as I kept my "label" as proof of my spotty bobs. My stars ones only lasted about 1 year before the heel gave too Ok - hard proof - found - I bought my wellie bobs on 17.02.09, They came with 2 circular tags - one of them clearly states the following - Your Joules Wellies are guaranteed for a whole 12 months against all of the following features. Flexibility, water-proofing, colourfastness to light, perishing due to age, and the strength of bonding. So rest assured: your feet will stay colourful throughout the year ....! That is written word for word - so you can quote it without any doubt. Knew I kept the receipt and tags in a little section of my handbag for a reason Go get em ....... The Dogmother
This is interesting as I am about to buy these to replace the last pair of Cotton Traders ones that went west. I will be sure to keep the tags and receipt SarahJo... thanks
Cinnamon
If you have your receipt,or bought them online, then they can have no issue with that guarantee. However,if you don't have a receipt, either paper or email, you won't have much chance of a refund or replacement.
karlotta
Sadly I don't have a receipt... which in itself is a lesson learnt.
MarkBevBen
Oh that doesn't sound good at all. Have you quoted trading standards to them Karlotta? I love my Hunter wellies, they're standing the test of time so far
The Dogmother
Interestingly, a local outlet which sells Hunters has told me that they think the quality of Hunters boots has gone right down.
welovemarmite
i had read some reviews on hunters and it wasnt very positive. So i went for muck boots and love them and had no problems so far.
The Dogmother
Very few of the neoprene muck boots go down to my size (3)
chicken bark
It's disappointing when a big name offer poor customer service. Stick to your guns for a replacement pair. I've just purchased a pair of hunter wellies. I got children's ones though as they go up to a size 5 and cost a lot less than the adult ones. MarkBevBen
Oh okay. I've never had a pair of Hunters before I got these last August 2009 and so far so good All the other cheapy ones I'd got just seemed to split within days!
DebC
My £10 pair of boots from Aldi are now nearly 5 years old and still going strong (hope that doesn't mean they will fall apart next week!)
The Dogmother
A dog-walking friend bought some bright wellies from Matalan; they fell apart in two weeks. She took them back and bought an indestructible pair form the army surplus store.

ubereglu
I like the carrick boots from Joules too and quite fancy a pair. I've not had any problems with any of their stuff personally and I find their shoes generally to be very good, but have heard more complaints this season about them though-I think they've got a bit ahead of themselves and are getting too big now.
