Wool pillows alert

Recommended Posts

If anyone finds the larger sized pillows would they let me know?

We have the wide ones for Superking if we can get them in America but had to make do with Kingsize last time.

OH loves his wool duvet, I'm still getting used to the crackling noise. As I get up 2 or 3 times a night, I'm very aware of the noise it makes. I've recycled OH's synthetic duvet into extra padding for the dogs box duvet - mine is in with the spare bedding....just in case....... :D

What are the measurements Lesley? Has your crackiling not reduced yet then :( Wonder if washing it would help :?

umm - I have 2 of the king size duvets and 2 of th wool pillows and ladies and gents I have the wool mattress protector too so wool all round - the next must have??????:lol::lol::lol: Tesco and Marks and spencers - I have the marks one!

Its nice to sleep on like the pillows and the duvet - I dont need heating on in the bedroom come snow or frost and sleep with the window open all the time resort to a hottie bottle sometimes though for my back!

The bed is 6' wide - two 3' mattresses zipped together, the US pillows were 3' wide and the John Lewis kingsize were a little smaller. The crackling is lessening.....and I am lovely and warm, no flinginh the duvet off during my warm moments :D .

I have got a wool mattress topper but I needed the depth and comfort of the memory foam. I tried the two together but it didn't work.

I didn't know you could get pillows that big. If I find any I'll let you know. We've a memory foam topper on our bed and have the M & S wool protector on top.

I picked up the M & S wool pillow protectors yesterday. They're rather large  and it was a squash to get them in the pillowcases we currently have on the bed. They're a bit crinkly but I slept well :)

Just wanted to update this with my experience of the woolen pillows.

I got 2 of the Fogartys 'best nights sleep' ones with my Tesco vouchers...would have cost me £25 each.

So far I am on night 4 with mine (Hubby has yet to try his) & am really disappointed with it.

The Duvet I love, but the pillow leaves a big dent where my head is,& I am having to get up & re-plump it a couple of times during the night. By the morning the head place is almost flat, with all the stuffing in the corners of the pillow.

Not impressed :?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for that Sarah, I was just going to order one of the pillows, but won't bother now. In my opinion, you can't beat a Dunlopillow.

I am getting on fine now with my duvet. The noise of the cotton cover has abated and I'm not waking in the night due to thermostat problems (usually too cold!). I'm going to go wild and try an old wool blanket with the wool duvet from tomorrow, as it is so cold at night and I don't have heating on in my bedroom, just the frost free setting on the radiator.
