Don't you just hate it when

Recommended Posts

.................the Supermarket stop stocking a product you really like & rely upon?

Tesco was the only place I could get Heinz Tomato Frito, but according to Heinz they have decided not to stock it any more. This stuff was fantastic & a real mainstay in our house, but is now not available in any major Supermarkets, just a chain of shops in Lancashire.

Almost as annoying as when they stocked the Flash power mop, which I bought, then they stopped stocking the pads & liqued refills for it,which I now have to bulk buy from Asda,on delivery as there isn't one near to me

Don't even get me started on the discontinuation of John Friedas Beach Blonde range, particularly the Ocean Waves sea spray, which was the only thing that made my hair look nice & surfy. I have a precious bottle left...they go for upwards of £40 on eBay!

I sympathise, especially about the mop issue. I often end up buying a new mop because I cant find a replacement head for the last one I bought... and I refuse to chase around different shops, I'm reckoning that the time/petrol/inconvenience of doing that outweighs the price of the new mop!

re the hair stuff, there's a really good Australian range in most supermarkets - might be worth a try? cant remember exact name, but it has lovely natural ingredients and smells fab.

Yup! Recently our local Sainsburys was the only place that stocked SR toothpaste which is the only toothpaste my hubby likes and then they decided to discontinue it. I contacted Sainsbury and they said that it was up to individual store what they stocked. Luckily we were in their a few weeks ago and they had a whole load of SR toothpaste so hubby picked up two boxes and I looked at him and he picked up another 3  And another really good thing was I bought some cheaper toothpaste which the cashier though they all were so put them all through as that. We did mention it to her, but she just looked at us and carried on putting our shopping through. She saved us about £2.50 :D

You just have to " love to hate them". I have fretted over jam, flour, tea, floor cleaner, mops, deodorant, bread even.

I go mental at times, especially when i live within 5 mins of the town centre ,but all the supermarkets are 10-20 mins out of town. I hate doing the Rounds just to fill the cupboards.......and lets face it a substitute is not the same......you know it won't get eaten or used, then it is a waste of money.

I've been buying Avons Advance Techniques Super Straight Smoothing Balm as it was the only thing that seems to calm my frizz and left my hair smooth and soft. They updated the look of Advance techniques range and gave it new packaging in a pink/purple tube instead of white. I could only find a straightening Cream not the balm, thinking it's the same thing. It's not. :(

Grrr.

If it aint broke, why fix it?

(I've found some on ebay and have stocked up  )

Does anyone remember nutty bars. I look back and can almost taste it, can't get them anymore. It was a fudge type centre bar rolled in peanuts.

I too love a hair product that it seems they have just stopped. I can't find loreal studioline curl tamer creme anywhere near me :( they still do a spray but not the cream. My local superdrug just has a hole on the shelf

Have you tried VO5 extreme style surf style texturising sea salt spray? Their words not mine. I'm not sure its exactly like the one you mention (no oil or moisturising bits in it as far as I can see) this one is for a matt beach effect but it definately has sea salt in it and I've used it - it does what it says on the bottle

Just so you can see http://www.boots.com/en/VO5-Extreme-Style-Surf-Spray-150ml_953051/

I thought it was just me being paranoid that, as soon as I start buying something regularly, they either stop making or stocking it. It happened years ago with a hair mousse by herbal essences. It controlled my wayward hair, but I could only get it in the States. Tesco no longer sell Joe and Jills dry cat food or Soft and Gentle anti perspirant in Soft Jasmine fragrance - they now do soft jasmine with coco milk which I dont like as much.

You haven't done any washing for days because of the rotten weather and when you start in on the mounds that have accumulated the machine's stopped working!

New drive belt needed (that explains the strange noise on spin the last time it was used) and no shop in town has one so it's now ordered online but have to wait.

Looks like it's school uniforms washed in the bath then.. :(

Your absolutely right Beach Chick, they wouldn't care at all. Eldest son's uniform is always hanging in his wardrobe for the week but I've lost count of the times he's just put down a couple of shirts and one pair of trousers when yelled at on Friday for the washing because he's been repeatedly wearing the same ones.... I know it's a bit of a teenage thing but it does still get on my nerves! At least it's cooler now but I do wonder how the teachers manage with whole classes full of teenage boys with the same mindset, coupled with the 'Lynx effect' it must destroy their sense of smell completely!!!

More disgustingly, my youngest has been doing the same with his socks! I have to check his feet before we start the school run in the mornings as he's taken to wearing his favourite socks for days on end and hiding his clean ones... He learns far too much from his big bro.
