Son's car vandalised last night

Recommended Posts

My son found his car vandalised after work last night. One wing mirror ripped off, the other smashed, front and back wipers pulled off. One number plate is missing and the other he found in the road :x The police are here now photographing and taking fingerprints, there is blood all over the smashed mirror and bonnet so hoping they can get DNA - we had to cover everything in plastic bags at 12 last night to protect evidence. They also wrote swear words all over the car.

It never rains but it pours

Presumably they cut themselves smashing the mirrors so obviously not very bright. Police got a fingerprint and DNA so hope they have a match on their database. Luckily insurance provide a courtesy car and have already contacted a garage, Sam's excess is £400 although my lovely mum saves the money for any car emergencies just for her grandsons :)

Awful. I hope you get proper financial recompense at least.

When I lived over the surgery we had a "Wine Bar" next door ( the '' '' are there because they seemed to specialise in Snakebites not wine ......oh how apt being next to a vets :lol::lol: ) sorry, I digress.

One night my husband's BMW was kicked in. On the other side of us was a cabbie firm and bless them, they saw what happened and followed the miscreant through Bushy Park where the Old Bill caught him.

So he was truly nicked and tried and fined except he was on benefits :boohoo: and the court order was for £5.00 a month :wall:

He missed two payments (surprise :liar: ) and we were told that we would have to take a civil action to recover the amount of the original damages :wall:

We are unsure whether it was just 'yobs' or if son was actually the target  The car is being collected for repair tomorrow and he has a hire car :) we are just waiting to see how much it will cost and whether to claim on insurance (makes next years premium so expensive) and excess is £400  Just have to wait and see what Police come up with.
