SarahJo
At last got some pics today ... including 007, the Cockerel (Sussex). Also got a pic of the new puppy ... Belle, who is 8 weeks old ... soooo cute. . Sadly, the one chick who hatched last week has died, and none of the remainding 15 's are showing signs of life . Still plenty more opportunities, as 007 and the Leghorn fella are very popular with the ladies . Will post pics in Chickens.
Popcorn
Oh, gorgeous pictures Sarahjo...I love 007, he looks very in charge! How did the adopted flock come about then, and where do they all sleep at night??

SarahJo
What lovely chooks Sarah - sorry, but I missed the story about why they are adopted .... I call them "Adopted" as I would love them as my own . When Pepper was poorly, I took Joe to a local farm to get top up eggs, and the lady offered me a job. So I help out once a week, and mess about with the hens and 's, and occasionally chase the dairy cows across fields when they need moving. . I do it as a help, rather than for the money ... and the boys love to go and visit, and ride the pony Rupert too. . So all in all, its a bit of fun for me, and a little pocket money, but also has perks for Ben and Joe, and I have a source of lime and free bark chip for my girls too. . They now have Belle the Pup, so another little bonus to the time I spend there, as she is adorable.
Mrs Frugal
They are lovely Sarah! How do you manage to keep your boot empty when you go home! I'd take 007 home as a present for my ladies!!
SarahJo
I'd take 007 home as a present for my ladies!! ... , he's a tad noisy Kate . Ben said he would like a cockerel .. then heard 007 yelling, and decided NOT. . Now if Bens mucking about, I'll threaten him with 007, coming to live in his room ..... not that noisy doodle doo he says. .

Sheilaz
WE HAVE CHICKS ...... Thanks for updating us on the adopted flock. How lovely, especially for those of us who can only dream about Blubelle chicks. I've only just seen this addition too. Maybe you wondered why no one was excited when you posted? Perhaps the forum had a blip, without marking the post as unread, just at that time..I certainly hadn't seen it. Work must be a pleasure sometimes.
