patsylabrador
I put loads of creams & stuff on but the skin on my face still feels tight by about midday & I was wondering what other people use in winter. Also, my husband was out in bitter cold for around 12 hrs yesterday with no respite & he said his legs were really sore from the wet & cold. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
Angie
I go through a lot of Nutrogena, norwegian formula..a little goes a long way. You can get fast absorbing, scented and unscented, even one for feet. Also i use Diprobase cream...(i get it on prescription and use it all over face every where.) another is Vasaline intensive rescue hand and body. ali-s
When I was having to walk to work through the snow in temperatures of -5 and below I was using my normal moisturiser and then a good layer of E45 cream on top. My lips got a good thick layer of Nutrogena lip balm. I use Aveeno hand cream on my hands. Even though it was so cold outside I was wrapped up so well I had to take off my gloves now and then to cool down. The Aveeno cream is so good it protected my hands from chapping. I go through a lot of Nutrogena, norwegian formula..a little goes a long way. You can get fast absorbing, scented and unscented, even one for feet. . I use Nutrogena foot cream. I also use it on other parts of my body as well, especially my legs, knees and elbows.
Cinnamon
I swear by facial oils in this weather - the Declour ones are amazing & really lock in the moisture. Of course this is funds permitting - if I run out its good old E45 cream, plus Boots Protect & Perfect serum
Geoid
Balaclava, you might look a bit like a bank robber, but keeps your face nice and warm (so it doesn't dry out)
bluekarin
I have the same problem. I always change the moisturiser I wear in the winter and then back again in the spring/summer. It takes a few different ones till it feels right, so I end up with a few pots of cream that my two DD's use.
ubereglu
I use the Body Shop's body butter. Very good, you don't need a lot either and it comes in a wide variety of scents. Also, Nivea soft handcream. For your husbands aches get some massage oil, it will help moisturise the skin and really helps with the aches. I really like the Tisserand one with lemongrass and ginger. I'm allergic to lots of differenct handcreams and things though, eg E45 etc, so try testers of things first if you can to see if you're allergic or not. Sageandonion
My hubbie suffers from cracked heels and cracks (like paper cuts) in his fingers and swears by Lotil cream. It does what it says on the tin - ' soothes dry, chapped and sore skin' and works wonders overnight. Not sure if it's meant for your face though. SJChick
I like Vitamin E cream, I get it from our local health food type shop, don't need much but it softens my skin overnight and smooths the rough frosted bits. On legs, i have started to wear my waterproof trousers on top of everything when I'm out because it is sooooo cold, even though it isn't particularly wet, they are windproof so they keep my legs warm.
