chestnutmare
SpaceChick was kind enough to offer me to look at her chickens today. She was very welcoming (thank you) and helpful. OH and I got to pick up one of her girls. I have to admit, I was quite nervous and I couldn't believe how friendly her hens were. The highlight of the day was definitely putting down one of her girls and finding she had done her business on my coat. SC's multicoloured eggs were amazing and I liked her columbines very much. Ooo, and her fluffy bundles were adorable. OH is now more confident and is looking forward more to getting our own chickens... I just hope I get used to the handling. Thanks again, it was lovely to meet you and your OH. I hope he's ordered you that cube!

Space Chick
No cube Chestnutmare It was my pleasure and was great to meet you both, although I must apologise for Katarinas appalling toilet manners Glad you enjoyed meeting my lot, and you know where I am if you need me
chestnutmare
Oh no, well I did try on your behalf. I picked up some useful information today, thanks. We went to Wyevale after yours and got wood bark (nope, couldn't get wood 'chip') and large white pebbles to go around the . The bricks/stones were too large and heavy. Can't wait! Edit: I now realise they can't have wood bark so will (hopefully) return them. Won't be using them. Edited January 1, 2011 by Guest
Plum
Well that has kept you quiet for one day. What are you going to do tomorrow? Someone else to visit
chestnutmare
Well that has kept you quiet for one day. What are you going to do tomorrow? Someone else to visit I might just read chickens. I wouldn't want to annoy another person so soon! Turns out Space Chick only lives a 20min drive from me, so couldn't possibly say no to a visit. I was so proud of myself for holding Katarina, more successfully, for the second time. We even had a chat. Well what did she think of me? Poo! Valkyrie
We nearly sneaked out with Tegan, but unfortunately SC had her beady eyes on us. I was lucky enough to be with her when she found the pekins. Like a ninja she was - whoosh in and the birds were purchased! My OH rang as she was buying - I told him that we were in the queue for buying chickens. I swear that he did the loudest gulp ever and the panic in his voice when he asked "have you??" Next time maybe! Mwahahaha! SC is also a very bad influence when it comes to buying chickens - you have to be very strong to resist.
