Griffin
and it's dragging sooooooooooo much I walk past the incy loads of times a day and gaze lovingly at my babies to be. They're due next Friday ish and it cannot come soon enough. One of the babies from my last hatch has laid her first egg today so it feels like forever since I had gorgeous little chicks to fuss over. Hurry up babies! Edited February 5, 2011 by Guest
craftyhunnypie
I'm soooo envious. There is so much I want to hatch. I'd like some different bantams, some welsummers & I desperately want a black silkie. Good luck with the hatch - Emma.x
Plum
Good luck from me too. I like watching for all these babies.
mollyripkim
Good luck too, I'd love to hatch some eggs too, it must be such a lovely thing to do. I'm a bit of a coward though as would get too attached if they turned out to be boys. Tempting though!!
Griffin
Day 18 today so I've put the hatching mat in and turned the automatic turning off Making it to full term are five Silkies, 1 Gold Dutch, 1 Porcelain Sablepoot & 1 Buff Mottled Sablepoot. I reckon the Dutch will be out first, I could feel that one moving in the shell when I put the mat in this morning None of them are answering back yet when I talk to them but I did see a Silkie wobble. My last hatch in that incy was early and I expect the tiny ones might take less than 21 days to cook so I'm hoping to see a bit of action tomorrow or Friday

craftyhunnypie
Any hatched yet? Dying to see some cutie pics! In the meantime I shall just oogle over Hob"Ooops, word censored!". Emma.x
Griffin
All but two have pipped, varying shaped holes, but no chicks yet I've been waiting all day! No doubt they'll all pop out the second I go to bed
Griffin
Two chicks out so far The porcelain Sablepoot hatched about half an hour ago. An alleged gold Dutch arrived last night but it's not what it says on the tin It's got feathered legs and feet Emily is a bit speechless, she desperately wanted a Dutch, it was the only one of six 'Dutch' eggs to make it to full term, three were clear, two died half way through, and now it's not even what she was hoping for My money is on Pekin at the moment, we'll see...... Griffin
And we now have a Silkie! Craftyhunnypie it's not white or gold though! Can't really tell yet but it looks quite dark with gold hi-lights It's massive!
scarlettohara
Beware the massive silkie
Griffin
Three similarly coloured giant Silkies, two Poots and a mystery chick have hatched One more Silkie has pipped and the remaining one isn't doing anything yet. I've trawled through the feedback of the 'Dutch' seller and found that he sold a few lots of Mille Barbu D'uccles last summer. Mefinks that's what I've got That or some kind of D'uccle x Dutch Photos tomorrow when they all get shifted to the brooder

Griffin
While I was candling the last two eggs (I'm sure one is dead but the other is just sat there waiting) we took the babies out for a few quick photos and a once over. Just uploading now....
Griffin
A handful of Silkies: The first one out, partridge by the looks of things: Second one, not as partridgey but similar colouring: A very happy but tired Georgia Mary with the third Silkie, the weirdest colour I have ever seen. A blue body with a yellowy blue head! Sleepy chick: Porcelain Sablepoot: Buff Mottled Sablepoot who is soooo tiny: Shakira, her hips don't lie but the title on her egg does:
craftyhunnypie
Oh beautiful gorgeous chickies. Love them all! Where on earth have those colours come from though? Surely from white & gold silkies you'd expect a a few of each - not partridge & certainly not blue! My god if you've got a blue silkie I will be very very envious & might come over there & smuggle it under my bob hat! I wonder with the partridge coloured ones if you might have one of each, with the difference in darkness. Congrats. Emma.x
